Electronic Arts’ Origin service officially launched on Apple’s Mac platform today, with an alpha version only having been released just a few weeks ago.

Origin’s new standout feature with the Mac release is dual-platform play, which enables users to buy select titles once and load them up on either a PC or Mac through their newly unified “My Games” library. Other features coming over from the original Origin service are cloud-based saved games and continues and friends lists.

The list of available games include that from EA’s catalog as well as its publishing partners, such as Dragon Age 2, Batman: Arkham City GOTY Edition, Lego: Harry Potter and The Sims 3 — which, along with its expansions, is currently on sale through a Simtastic 13th Anniversary promotion.
