Gazillion initiates Marvel Heroes Founders Program

Game launching spring 2013 for PC, Mac version coming later

Down as I was on Marvel Heroes based on my time spent with the closed beta, there’s little doubt in my mind that the game will find its audience and do quite well for itself. In addition to narrowing down the release to spring 2013, Gazillion Entertainment has announced a Founders Program for the free-to-play MMO action-RPG.

The program is broken down into three tiers, which range from “not exactly inexpensive” to “did you just steal someone’s credit card to afford this?” There are 16 Starter Packs priced at $19.99 — each of which revolve around a specific hero — that come with the usual in-game currency, costumes, boosts, and early access.

At $59.99 for the next tier, you’ll get more of the same perks and teams of four playable heroes. One of these Premium Packs is just a bunch of Deadpool, which I can appreciate. Finally, there’s the rather insane $199.99 Ultimate Pack that contains all of the launch heroes and costumes, permanent XP and item-find boosts, and more. That’s quite the commitment to make.
