Online play will continue as fate of WipEout is decided

You’ve probably heard by now that Studio Liverpool, the lovely developers of the WipEout series, closed up shop last month. Liverpool calls it the “end of an era,” and millions of fans across the globe are inclined to agree — which begs the question — what is going to happen to the WipEout series?

Well, even the studio doesn’t know for sure, but they did put out a message on Facebook that confirmed the continuation of online play, as well as “plenty of community events, giveaways and goodies.” Right now, the studio is “waiting” for news on the fate of the series. We also don’t know what happened to the two “PS4” games Liverpool was working on as well.

Personally, I’ll always remember them as Psygnosis, the company that developed and/or published a handful of my favorite games: Colony Wars, G-Police, Discworld, Rollcage, and many more. They will be missed.
