In a week’s time, it will be out with the old and in with the new. As we bid adieu to the PlayStation 3, let’s take the time to reflect on what that big black box has done.

As of November 2, 2013, the PS3 has sold more than 80 million units worldwide, with a lifetime total of 4,332 games released, and 300 more titles to be released by year’s end. By comparison, the Xbox 360 passed 80 million sold last month, with the Wii’s 100 million units sold trumping both.

Numbers, people. Numbers.

The PlayStation 4 will launch on November 15 (next Friday!), with the Xbox One shortly after on November 22.
