Microsoft has taken the opportunity at Tokyo Game Show to showcase what appear to be some of the more fun aspects of Dead Rising 3. Even if the game still seems swathed in brown and gray, at least there’s the comfort of knowing that the weaponry will be creative.
New to Dead Rising 3 are super-combo weapons, which is a new class that requires at least three different parts to assemble. The rewards should be worth the effort though, as some of these inventions sound incredibly cool. For instance, the Ultimate Grim Reaper is a flaming scythe that’s assembled from a katana, a scythe, a gas can, and a mask. There’s also the Massive Bomb which is a mini-nuke that devastates everything in your proximity, including your clothes. Naked time confirmed!
Capcom Vancouver and Microsoft have also confirmed that Freedom Bear is back, taking on a more versatile role. Players will be able to customize the teddy bear with eight different weapons modifications such as grenade launchers. Dead Rising 3 affords me the opportunity to end up nude in the streets clutching a stuffed animal, which really isn’t any different than any other weekend night.
