It doesn’t have the same scope as Maldita Castilla or Hydorah — two remarkable titles that are inexplicably free to download — but the latest freeware release from Locomalito is worth checking out for fans of no-nonsense arcade games. Download it here.

This three-week project is all about shooting bugs endlessly for high scores on a single screen. It’s best played with a buddy (or three!), so Conrad and I decided to put together a quick video to show off the co-op. I’m continually amazed by Locomalito’s ability to work across different genres and distill their best titles into an original work that doesn’t feel like a rehash.
