Slew of new StarCraft II features headed to Battle.net

Blizzard has just come out with a blog post detailing some new features to hit StarCraft II “at or around” the launch of the upcoming expansion, Heart of the Swarm. Here’s the rundown:

  • Multiplayer resume from replay
  • Global Play
  • Multilanguage support
  • Clan/group system
  • Unranked matchmaking
  • Multiplayer replay viewing

That first feature is designed to help players who might, oh I don’t know, get disconnected from a match during a major tournament? If it works as intended, it’ll be a great feature that will definitely make those rare circumstances a bit more tolerable. Personally, I’m really looking forward to an unranked matchmaking system, since as soon as ranking points are involved I get terrified and never want to even try. I just want to jump in and play without any real consequence.

Oh, and a clan system? Looks like we can finally get a Destructoid group on Battle.net!
