Mortal Shell 2 is coming soon to PC and consoles worldwide, meaning it’s almost time to begin our adventure. Developed by Cold Symmetry, Mortal Shell 2 is a standalone sequel to the first title that came out in 2020.
There are two different release windows based on which edition you opt for.
Mortal Shell 2 release countdown
The Mortal Shell 2 standard version releases worldwide on Thursday, Aug. 20, while the Devout Edition goes live on Monday, Aug. 17. The following countdown ticks down to the advanced access.
The countdown is based on the following times.
- 6am PDT
- 8am CDT
- 9am EDT
- 1pm UTC
- 2pm BST
- 3pm CEST
The Devout Edition comes with a series of extra bells and whistles, including the three days of early access. But if you opted for the Standard Edition, the following countdown is applicable to you.

Getting the Devout Edition also gets you the Obsidian Skin set for all your shells, which automatically unlocks once you find them (the shells) in the game. However, Mortal Shell 2 is a completely single-player experience, so there’s no real advantage in starting early, apart from dodging potential spoilers.
