You can send a villager to collect items by chatting with them and selecting the “Can you help me find something?” dialogue option in DDV. This process can be tricky to navigate, so here’s a full breakdown of how to make it all happen.

  • Find the villager you want to send. Track down the character you want to send out. You must have a level seven friendship or better to use this ability. The items you can send villagers to find also vary depending on the role you have chosen for them, so mining specialists can gather gems, gardening specialists seek out crops, and so on for all other roles.
  • Interact with them. Once you’ve found the villager you want to send out, walk up to them and interact to get all available options to appear.
  • Locate and select the “Can you help me find something?” option. You’ll have quite a few options to choose from after interacting with a villager, but only one that accomplishes your goal. You can find this option near the very bottom of the list.
  • Choose the item you want to have them collect. Once you select the “Can you help me find something?” option, a large menu of items to choose from will open. You can then scroll through them all to find whichever one you want to have the villager collect.
  • Return to the same villager on the following day. It takes characters a day to gather the requested items, so check back with them the next day to receive whatever you asked for.

Which villagers can collect items for you in Disney Dreamlight Valley?

Any villager you have level seven friendship or better with can be asked to find items. All characters can eventually be sent on this task as long as you work on getting them to this point.

How many villagers can you send to collect items in Disney Dreamlight Valley?

There’s no limit to the number of villagers you can send out to gather items. This means that if you have a full valley of characters you’ve hit level seven friendship or better with, you can ask every single one of them to find specific items for you.

The only limitations on this system are the number of items each villager will find. When selecting what you want a friend to find, the number range for how many they can potentially bring back will appear.

The rarer and more difficult to acquire an item is, the lower this range tends to be. The rarest spawns oftentimes even have a limit of just one, so keep this in mind so you can decide whether it’s worth it.
