Minecraft’s Chaos Cubed update is officially scheduled to launch on June 16. Official update release times are never shared ahead of time, but luckily, Minecraft has a reliable, consistent schedule, making it fairly easy to predict when this one will be released. As long as everything stays on track and sticks to the normal release rollout, Chaos Cubed will go live at 10am CT.

The Chaos Cubed update for Minecraft primarily focuses on the Sulfur Cube mob and the new Sulfur Cave biome that goes with it. There’s lots to uncover, though, so here’s a full breakdown of all the new features packed into this update.

  • Sulfur Cube – A new passive mob that can be found hopping around Sulfur Caves. You can feed them a variety of unique blocks to enact various effects.
  • Sulfur Cave biome – A special new region that’s found underground and is home to all kinds of sulfur features, including Sulfur Cubes, sulfur blocks, sulfur springs, sulfur spikes, and more. The springs and geysers for this area spawn on the surface above the cave, making it easy to locate this biome beneath.
  • New blocks – An array of new blocks, plus various item variants of certain ones like stairs or slabs, are included in this update.

  • New music disc – A new music disc called Bounce is included in this update. You can find it inside chests that spawn in mineshafts within the Sulfur Cave biome.
  • Java friends list – While playing the Java Edition of Minecraft, you can finally invite friends easily without the need for special servers or Realms.
