‘Back to Karkand’ hits Battlefield 3 on PS3 December 6

PlayStation 3 gamers are getting the oft-talked-about “Back to Karkand” expansion for Battlefield 3 on December 6, a week before everyone else. As you’ve likely heard countless times before, this is a free download for early purchasers; otherwise, you’re looking at $15. Here’s a brief overview:

  • Maps: Wake Island, Sharqi Peninsula, Gulf of Oman, and Strike at Karkand
  • Vehicles: VSTOL fighter jet, Desert Buggy, and an APC
  • Ten new weapons
  • Assignments system
  • Conquest Assault mode

More than anything, I’m glad we can stop being told about the expansion and people can finally play it for themselves. Yeah, I’m being a grump.
