The Light-reflection puzzle is one of several types of mysteries that you’ll need to solve in Crimson Desert, and you’ll come across them pretty commonly when exploring the map. The core strategy to solve these puzzles is to reflect the beam of light on specific spots. Doing so will trigger the mechanisms and allow you to proceed.
However, it can be pretty easy to get stuck if you fail to solve these puzzles. While the degree of difficulty of cracking these puzzles can be different, the core method is the same.
How to do light-reflection puzzles in Crimson Desert
There’s no exact location for encountering the light-reflection puzzle. The first one, in all likelihood, is going to be at the Corridor of the Void, where you’ll need to solve the puzzle to unlock the main door. So how do you solve the puzzle?

- Assuming you’re playing with a controller, press the L1/LB and R1/RB when standing in front of the puzzle. Let go of the buttons after a single press, and it will begin the reflection process.
- Now, press and hold the L1/LB button to use Blinding Flash. This will concentrate light on the light source and change its color to purple from orange.

- Keep aiming at the puzzle for three seconds approximately, or slightly longer. Once the light source changes back to orange, you have solved the light-reflection puzzle.
Later in the game, you’ll encounter puzzles that might use a light-reflection variant as part of them. The method of solving the puzzle will remain the same. Here’s a quick refresher of the steps.
- Aim at the light source and use your Blinding Light ability.
- Keep using Blinding Light until the color changes to purple, and then back to its original one.
The Blinding Light ability isn’t only required for solving light-reflection puzzles, but it’s also used to put fire on vines in the open world. You can also upgrade this ability from the Abyss Artifact to unlock the Blinding Light Finisher, which allows you to blind your enemies and leave them redundant for a few seconds.
