EA wants Battlefield Premium schemes in more games

Would you like to pay $60 for a game, and then pay almost as much again for further services related to that game? Apparently you do, since Electronic Arts is quite happy with Battlefield Premium and may very well bring the model over to other titles.

“It’s something we’d always been considering and we had been looking at,” said EA’s Frank Gibeau. “We didn’t have it ready for launch and it took us some time to get it prepped. Having said that, they [Activision] did something really innovative and if your competitor does something innovative and you think it applies to what you can do, then there’s no harm in doing that.

“We actually think our Premium service exceeds what Elite does — from a value standpoint, from a content standpoint, and longer term we think that we can bring more properties into that offering and that’ll be great for the business.”

Once gamers have literally no more money left to keep giving to publishers, do you think they’ll start accepting blood? Personally, I think our precious life fluids have always been the end game here. Vampire conspiracy unmasked, only on Destructoid.
