Regardless of your personal opinions of eSports, there’s no denying that professional, competitive gaming is on the rise. With more tournaments popping up all over the world and more teams jumping at the chance to play their favorite games for a paycheck, it’s pretty clear that competitive gaming isn’t going anywhere.

Peripheral manufacturer SteelSeries seems to agree stating after their stable of teams brought home a winnings in excess of $2 million last year. This is, according to SteelSeries CMO Kim Rom, “a hockey stick growth curve that attests to the rapid growth we’re seeing at a global level.”

With what they believe to be some of the best teams in gaming under their umbrella, SteelSeries is pretty psyched for 2012.
