$299.99 Xbox One confirmed for Black Friday by Microsoft

Select bundles get the $300 treatment

To sway even more gamers into its side of the world, Microsoft has confirmed that for the Black Friday period next week, you’ll be able to find select Xbox One bundles at the $299.99 price point at even more retailers.

What’s interesting in the release is that Microsoft doesn’t specify which Xbox bundles will be receiving the $300 treatment, as retailers will of course do their own respective promotion. What you can gleam from the announcement is that the $300 price tag will be on tap at multiple stores, and will be the bare minimum in terms of the deal you should expect.

Yes, that means you should expect some even better deals from Microsoft Store, Amazon, Target, Best Buy, et al. come Thursday/Friday next week.

For example, along with the $299.99 price tag, we’re expecting Microsoft Store to also offer an additional free game or two (as they are currently doing), or $50 in Xbox Live credit. (Remember, Dell is offering a $299 Xbox One with Fallout 4 plus extra controller).

Here are the two bundles we think you’ll be seeing with the $299.99 price tag at most retailers:

  • Xbox One Gears of War: Ultimate Edition Bundle (500GB)
  • Xbox One THE LEGO Movie Bundle (500GB)

What will be extra sweet come next week is if we start seeing the 1TB models inching their way to the $299.99 price point. We think it’s a bit more unlikely, but at the minimum we expect to see additional free games or bonuses attached to the $349.99 1TB bundles.

Last deal to note, if you’ll be needing a few games along with your shiny new Xbox One, Microsoft has already kicked off Xbox’s Black Friday sale, with over 150 games on sale for Gold members. Newcomers to Xbox Live Gold will also be able to try the service out for $1, for the first month of membership. (FYI: there’s also currently a $34 deal on 12-month subscription for those interested.)

Special pricing on Xbox One runs from Thursday, Nov. 26 through Monday Nov. 30 in the US. For the Xbox Store game deals, deals are open to everyone from Nov. 24 through Nov. 30.
