Price hike? Not today
Update 8/23: Groupon is out of stock. Best deal right now is NeoGames for $46.99.
Tucked away in its late-July post, Sony made an unpleasant announcement that PlayStation Plus pricing will increase to $59.99 per year. Because, you know, money. This switch-over won’t happen until September 22, so before you go gangbusters on picking up PlayStation Plus membership cards at your local GameStop, there is a good deal at Groupon to consider.
As of writing, you can grab a PlayStation Plus 12-month card at Groupon for $37.49 if you use the code “FIRST” during checkout. The catch? You have to be a “new” customer. But we’ve confirmed that a new email address and/or shipping address will suffice to qualify for the 25% off coupon.
- PlayStation Plus 12-Month Card — $37.49 (list price $50)
- Use coupon: FIRST
- “New” customers only
For select customers who haven’t bought at Groupon in forever, try SAVE30 which may take a giant 30% off. This one is definitely YMMV. Note that Groupon won’t ship to Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico, so you guys are out of luck.
If we spot more PS Plus-related deals (they are usually in the $38 to $40 price range), we will post them here before the new price finalizes.
