Don’t tell me what I must do

At this point, so many match-three puzzle games exist that it is easy to see a new one and immediately write it off without a second thought. Fortunately, 10000000 did enough new stuff with the genre that it gathered a decent amount of buzz, eventually making its way from iOS to PC, Mac, Linux, and Android.

Developer Luca Redwood originally planned a free update for 10000000, but with nebulous goals for what the update would include, it kept growing and changing until it was clear that the project was more sequel than update, and it would deserve its own release. Thus, You Must Build a Boat was born. Redwood describes it as keeping the same frantic match-three gameplay as its predecessor, but with the addition of a multiple path adventure element between runs.

In order for fans hoping for the free update not to feel snubbed, You Must Build a Boat will be free for those who own 10000000. And for those who don’t already own the original, it is conveniently on sale this week on Steam for a dollar or DRM-free on Humble for half a buck more.
