Zur teams with Florence + The Machine for Dragon Age II

You might have already known that composer Inon Zur was back to score BioWare’s Dragon Age II. But here’s a little surprise: English artist Florence + The Machine (Florence Welch) will appear on the soundtrack, as well.

“I’m Not Calling You A Liar (Dragon Age II Varric’s Theme)” is a “re-imagining” of a track from Florence’s 2009 album, Lungs. It’s not a new recording, however — Florence’s vocals were isolated from the original track, with music reworked by Zur for Dragon Age II.

“What was originally a powerfully tark, acoustic-based song has been reborn with all-new instrumentation and full orchestration,” says Elecronic Arts’ World Executive of Music Steve Schnur. “The results are an epic anthem for the next stage of the Dragon Age legend.”

The full soundtrack, including the “I’m Not Calling You A Liar” remix, will be available for purchased via “digital music services” on March 8 for $3.99. For those interested, EA release samples of Zur’s Dragon Age II music a few weeks back.
