Gaming marathons to raise money for worthy causes have become a hot thing. While I’d love to post about all of them and know that everyone gave the pessimist in me knows that that would be just a bit of an overload for most. However, the Zeldathon has caught my eye and now I hope it catches yours.

Reader Sam Wilde and his friends had to do a project for school in order to raise money for a charity. They chose to play through The Legend of Zelda series marathon style starting yesterday in order to raise money for Child’s Play. So if you donate to them not only will you be helping out the awesomeness that is Child’s Play, but you will also be helping a fellow community member with school work and showing all his teachers that playing videogames for hours on end can be very beneficial.

If you’d like to help out they’re accepting donations through ChipIn here. Right now they have ten donations and I’m hoping Destructoid can raise that a bit. As is par for the course for these kinds of things, you can also watch them play through the games live.
