You’ll buy it anyway: No demo for Marvel vs Capcom 3

As much as you’d like to take a ride in a demo version of Marvel vs Capcom 3, it doesn’t look like a demo will ever be released. Capcom’s Christian Svensson lays out the reasons why in a recent post on their boards, but it boils down to lack of time/money, and the guess that you’re probably going to buy it anyway.

“If you wanted a demo, you’d have had fewer characters, less polish or some other tradeoff in the full game because the game absolutely had to ship within this fiscal year (business reality).”

“Demos take time to make, test and submit and they aren’t cheap which would mean something else would have to be cut or reduced to have time in the schedule and budget to do it,” said Svensson. “Secondly, historically our retail fighting game releases have not had demos and we don’t believe that has hurt sales or long term consumer feedback if the experience is good (and in MvC3, it is great).”

You don’t need a demo. Plus, it’ll make launch day that much sweeter. You can wait.
