As someone who has been looking forward to Magicka for some time, I’m shocked that it had a successful launch. It’s indie, download-only, and seemingly few people knew about it prior to this week. Apparently the hivemind finally caught wind of the game, because it sold 30,000 copies on day one.
This new video is the best piece of game marketing I’ve seen in a long while. Arrowhead Studios took the cheesy infomercial concept and ran with it to startling (and in-depth) heights.
