Symphony is a vertical shoot-em-up generated using music files, allowing players to create playlists and then fight their way through them. We first heard about the game back in 2009 and, while it’s taken a bit longer than expected, the game is finally releasing for PC on August 6. Pre-orders have opened up today on the official Symphony site.
I’m a sucker for any game which takes advantage of my music library, so this was a sure bet for my money. For those less easily won over, Symphony looks to have a decent bit of content with power-up items to collect and upgrade (also determined by your tunes), five boss encounters and six difficulty modes.
Between this and Rock Band Blitz, I’m going to be one happy music game fan next month.
