Yes, someone is making a Where The Wild Things Are game

So apparently, there are games based off of Where The Wild Things Are in the works, according to the game’s developer, Amaze Entertainment.

In a roundabout way, the title — ambiguously listed as in development for “all platforms” — is based on Maurice Sendak’s brilliant children’s book. More specifically, they’re prompted by Spike Jonze’s film adaptation, set to hit theaters in October. Based on the trailer, this “might be a tragedy” looks like it could be absolutely brilliant film. If you haven’t seen it, go there now and do this thing… I’ll wait.

The same great things can’t be said about the games yet, as we haven’t seen or heard an official peep regarding the titles. I had heard as far back as last year that Brash Entertainment had picked up the license for videogame adaptations of the film, and that it was certainly in development across a number of platforms, including the Nintendo DS, Wii, and Xbox 360.

Brash – not known for their quality film to videogame adaptations – is no more, so the publisher of Where The Wild Things Are still remains a mystery.

Now if you don’t mind, I’m going to watch that trailer again.
