The sudden release of Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown was one of 2021’s most welcome surprises. After sitting on the sidelines for most of the last generation of consoles, Sega’s premier fighting franchise got a chance to remind everyone why it’s considered one of the best ever with an updated version of what is arguably the best game in the series. When Ultimate Showdown dropped on PS4 earlier this year, it did so with a DLC pack of polygonal costumes for its combatants. Next week, even more looks are set to arrive with the Virtua Fighter Yakuza costumes pack.

As you can see in the trailer, not only are you getting 19 Yakuza character costumes for the game, but the DLC pack will include 20 background music tracks from the series as well, approximately 650 different character customization options from past Virtua Fighter games, 20 music tracks from Virtua Fighter 3, and spectator stickers for when you want to watch other people duke it out online. In all honesty, that’s where I’ve spent most of my time with Ultimate Showdown as anytime I try to fight online, I get my ass handed to me. I love me some El Blaze, but lord knows I am no good with him when facing people who actually know how to play this game.

The Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate ShowdownYakuza DLC pack will be available starting December 8. Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown is available exclusively for PlayStation 4 and is part of the PlayStation Now subscription service.
