Yakuza 1 & 2 HD sells very poorly in its first week

Remember, it was supposed to be an experiment

The Wii U port sales woes continue with Yakuza 1 & 2 HD, as the game reportedly shipped less than 2000 copies in its first week in Japan. Yakuza producer Toshihiro Nagoshi stated in the past that the release is an “experiment,” so it sounds like they fully expected this turnout. It’s a shame since it probably eliminates any chance of an international release, but at least try tried!

I’m starting to think more publishers would benefit from releasing HD remakes worldwide on the same day, solely on the eShop, sold at a discounted rate of $20 to $30.
