XCOM 2 Muton is borrowing Marcus Fenix’s Lancer

2K Games and Firaxis just released a couple screenshots for the new Mutons in the upcoming XCOM 2, and something jumps out right away. Is that a chainsaw bayonet?

Granted, it’s not like anybody could “own” the idea of attaching a chainsaw to a gun, but the shape of it is strikingly similar, at least from certain angles. (In that last shot it looks more like a Scyther to me.) The press release does mention that the Mutons are splicing human DNA in with their own. Perhaps they got some Cliff Bleszinski DNA and now share some of his weapon design sensibilities.
