It’s always suspect when a publisher claims that a not-yet-released game is going to be a success. They have a vested interest in the game selling well, so it behooves them to drum up even more excitement. Xbox is speculating that Quantum Break might be wildly popular, but at least it has good reason for those projections.

On the TXR Podcast (and as reported by GameSpot), Xbox marketing executive Aaron Greenberg talked about the pre-release reception to Quantum Break. “It’s been great. Pre-orders are really strong; they’re performing well ahead of plan. Retailers are continuing to increase their orders for the game, which we track and watch,” he said.

Greenberg continued with hopeful praise by stating “We’ve been playing the game; we know it’s a great game. Fingers crossed, but I think we’re sitting on a mega hit.”

Days before launch, Microsoft has empirical data showing that Quantum Break is out-pacing its projections. That’s enough to make Remedy head Sam Lake dive into a giant bottle of champagne. Our review will be up at midnight Pacific time, so it’s only mere hours before you hear our verdict.
