Xbox One Experience Preview issues affect games, apps

Here’s what we know so far…

The latest Xbox One Experience Preview program is experiencing a host of troubles, including errors running Destiny: The Taken King, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, Skylanders, Elder Scrolls Online and Forza 6.

The problems haven’t been reported on the Xbox One Status webpage, but warnings – shared by our friends at VideoGamer – have been made available on the Xbox One dash itself.

Microsoft also acknowledges that problems also plague purchases made on Xbox.com, system updates are freezing consoles, Party Chat may not function correctly (and involve a hard reset to get going), the browser might not recognise voice commands and notifications get lost en-route.

The Xbox button on your controller might not work either, also requiring a hard reset.

Here’s what we know…

Game loading issues: D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die, Destiny: The Taken King, Elite: Dangerous, Guacamelee: SCTE, Pool Nation FX, Skylanders, Unmechanical, and Xbox Fitness.

Other issues: Assassin’s Creed Unity (installing DLC while the game is running will cause it to crash); Elder Scrolls Online (logging in to an existing character will cause an error indicating you do not have network connectivity); Forza 6 (graphical errors turn your screen blue or purple).

Additionally, the ABC News, BlinkBox, Every Street United, Overdog, ReddX, Showtime Anytime, SlingTV, TWC TV, VUDU and WWE apps may not launch. BravoNow, MLB, SyFy, TED and USA Now may launch, but probably won’t work properly.

If you’re being plagued with issues you can opt-out of the program at any time, but be warned – doing so resets your console to factory settings, so all your content/progress etc. will be lost.
