Xbox Design Lab is back with new options for custom Xbox controllers

Make the controller of your dreams again

When it first launched, Xbox Design Lab was a cool way to create your very own controller, from color scheme down to a custom engraving. It went on pause with the launch of the Xbox Series X|S, but today, the lab is back with more options for new-gen console controllers.

Announced during today’s Extended Xbox Games Showcase, the Xbox Design Lab is currently open for users to make and order their own customized controllers. There are new color options like Shock Blue, Pulse Red, and Electric Volt, and there are some variants for the buttons as well.

Xbox says in its blog post today that the team will continue working on new processes and materials to keep evolving the Design Lab, and over the coming months, it will share more information about new customization options.

It’s a little cheesy, but I really dig the Design Lab. It lets you basically make the controller you want, whether that’s a recreation of the classic 360 look or just maintaining a beef with a friend. I don’t need a new controller myself, but when it comes time for holidays and gift-giving, I might go browsing through the options here.

You can find the Xbox Design Lab on the Xbox site here.
