X10: There will be no health bar in Fable III

Recommended Videos

Each new Fable brings fresh ideas and new mechanics to the table. Fable III is no exception — but one in particular might just get you “super pissed.”

During the presentation for the upcoming title at Microsoft’s media-only X10 event, the Lionhead boss revealed that it won’t have a health bar, or indicators like flashes, darkening of the screen, or crimson blood spatters. A strange move considering that combat still appears to be a main point of interaction.

Molyneux didn’t delve into details about what happens if you do manage to take “damage.” We’re thinking his scarring system will go into full effect in this latest — if you get roughed up, you’ll look all the worse for it. But that’s just a guess. Feel free to express your horrible, angry thoughts in the comments section below.
