The upcoming game Guitar Hero: Smash Hits, a best-of track collection from previous Guitar Hero games, comes with a smashing set of…drumsticks. That’s right: crap drumsticks with the game’s logo on them. Can’t wait.
This comes as an exclusive pre-order item at GameStop. Online customers will have the sticks shipped with the game, while in-store customers can pick them up on the way out. The game drops on June 16th, so you’ll need to get your game pre-ordered before then. Great. Two pieces of wood. Super. Grand.
I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to sound ungrateful for the free drumsticks. Apologies to Activision and GameStop, too. It’s just that this is…this is my big news for the day. The month pre-E3 is pretty painful as it is, but starting the week out on Monday as the News Editor for a games website during this period is the worst. On days like this, I feel like the Head Robot is looking at my output and then re-checking the company’s finances. He’s thinking ‘do we really need this guy’ or something like that. I think he’s looking over my shoulder now, with the ominous red eyes lit up and all.
What sucks is that I only expect today to become worse from this point. Goodbye, wonderful job.
