World of Warcraft Shadowlands’ pre-launch event is live, and it’s pretty fun

I’m ready to go

World of Warcraft‘s pre-launch event for the Shadowlands expansion has arrived, and it’s running through November 23, the day the new storyline launches.

In case you haven’t been following along with WoW‘s age-old storyline (which is entirely possible!), Sylvanas has unleashed undead hell on earth (Azeroth), and it’s your job, on both sides of Alliance or Horde coin, to stop it.

So long as you’re level 50 you can join the fight against the undead scourge, earning rewards in the process. Or, you can become a mindless member of the undead army (well, even more mindless if you already are part of the undead race) for fun: naturally, it isn’t permanent.

For the Horde, you can find the quest right here near the gates of Orgrimmar.

If you didn’t get the quest when you logged in, hit Shift+J to open your adventure journal and grab the pre-launch trigger. The all-encompassing questline is called “Death Rising,” and the inaugural quest is “An Urgent Request.”

On the Horde side, you’ll galivant across the Barrens and beyond.

For the Alliance, you can find the first quest at Lion’s Rest: near the southwest corner of Stormwind.

Again, if you didn’t get the quest when you logged in, hit Shift+J to open your adventure journal and grab the pre-launch trigger. The all-encompassing questline is called “Death Rising,” and the inaugural quest is “An Urgent Request.”

As the Alliance, you’ll beat back the scourge in Goldshire and whereabouts (man these areas bring me back!).
