World of Warcraft: Legion is getting a companion app today

Control your followers

I think Legion is the most fun I’ve had in World of Warcraft since Lich King, and it’s just as well as a new app is coming today that allows players to track and order their followers around on both Android and iOS. It’s pretty basic but you can alter your abilities at your Order Hall, and send party members on quests. You also get a new feature once you hit level 110 — the power to browse “World Quests,” a new mechanic in Legion that makes roaming around the world more fun.

A lot of people are quick to call it Farmville (which was more fair for Warlords‘ Garrisons), but I think it’s more closely related to the bar system in Final Fantasy Tactics or the Valhalla mechanic in Valkyrie Profile, where you’d send your troops out on missions and await the results.
