Windbound’s gameplay trailer has Breath of the Wild vibes

Luckily, it’s coming out in August

Windbound strikes a particular mood in this gameplay trailer, and as someone who dug The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild enough to enjoy a (likely) lesser take on its exploration-focused format, I’m up for it. There’s bow hunting, mushroom foraging, and a desert creature that swims through sand.

We’ve touched on Windbound before, but this footage is worth covering for those of you who might’ve missed it (or forgot this game even exists). To be honest, it had slipped my mind until today.

There are a few upcoming sailing-centric adventures, but this one looks the most promising to me in presentation and scope. So long as the islands don’t all blur together, it should be another fun one.

5 Lives Studios is launching Windbound on August 28, for Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
