WiiWare manga starts this January with Princess Ai Monogatari

We’ve known about manga on WiiWare for a while now, but any news about still ranks as highly relevant to my interests. Of course, it’s Tokyopop’s Princess Ai Monotogari, a series that is co-created by Courtney Love (yes, that Courtney Love), so its no Yakitate Japan! or anything, but the concept of having manga available on the Wii has future potential.

Sun Denshi announced a January 6th launch date for the service in Japan, but believe it or not there are plans to bring it overseas as well. They are currently working with Tokyopop to bring original manga to the service as well, which ought to attract some new readers.

The first three chapters of Princess Ai Monotogari will be downloadable for 500 Wii points and will come with the required viewing software. It will also come with both Japanese and English subtitles, so all is not lost if you cannot read moonspeak just yet.
