Wiimote Obscura: Next Fatal Frame title coming to the Wii

Recommended Videos

While we were busy drinking at the Tecmo party at Tokyo Game Show, the Ziff Davis  team were doing some real work. 1UP has learned that the next title in the Fatal Frame series will be coming to none other than Nintendo’s console, the Wii. Even more surprising, the title will be in the development hands of Grasshopper Manufacture, the Suda 51-led team responsible for the upcoming No More Heroes.

Fatal Frame‘s picture snapping game mechanic seems perfect for Nintendo’s system, with its motion controls and easy “point-and-click” interface. 1UP makes note that Fatal Frame 3 producer Keisuke Kikuchi had expressed interest in bringing the series to a more powerful system. We’re not sure if this is quite what he had in mind, but someone at Tecmo seems to think otherwise.

Full development on the game is set to start when Suda 51 and company finish work on No More Heroes, which is set to ship in Japan later this year. Looks like it could be a while before Fatal Frame and Pokemon Snap fans get their fix.
