Wii Taiko No Tatsujin confirmed for December release

Unfortunately, I can’t share any actual screens or art from the upcoming Taiko No Tatsujin for Wii with you as the only official picture we have is pretty grainy and ugly, so you’ll have to settle for another selection from my personal collection above. The game has been confirmed for a December 11th release in Japan, but as far as the North American market goes, there’s no word on whether we’ll get the game.

The PS2 version of Taiko No Tatsujin, called Taiko Drum Master in the US, got an underwhelming reception, no doubt due to the inclusion of American pop songs, which simply seemed out of place in the game. While it’s understandable that a lot of American gamers would not enjoy the Japanese songs Taiko traditionally comes packed with, there must be a way to find a happy medium to communicate the fun of the game to the US without losing the charm that makes it what it is.

All video game themes, perhaps?
