Online play has become one of the most essential features in this generation of gaming. With so many multiplayer-oriented games coming out for the Wii, you have to wonder why Nintendo has been so hesitant in jumping on the online bandwagon. Suprisingly enough, it’s actually starting to look like they’re ready to bring the heat.
In a recent interview with The Mercury News, Nintendo president Reggie Fils-Aime discussed the future of Wii online play:
As for online, Reggie said that Pokemon Battle Revolution is doing well in Japan and would be the first online title in the U.S. He said online development kits have been seeded and titles are coming.
Now if only Nintendo would scrap their friend code system for something a little more … practical.
