Who needs iOS: Angry Birds hits 30 million on Android

Who needs iOS? Well, I do, but I realize that not everyone else does. Android will do just fine, especially seeing as how the Android Marketplace continues to grow so rapidly.

Popular physics-based bird flinger Angry Birds hasn’t had an issue with Android — it’s being downloaded like crazy, actually. Rovio’s game just hit 30 million downloads says company man Peter Vesterbacka, speaking at a GDC panel on making money with Android.

And it’s not like the downloaders are just pulling this down to see what all the talk is about. According to Joystiq, Vesterbacka says that 80 percent of Android users continue to play and download updates.

In America I saw Angry Birds t-shirts at the mall. It’s getting out of hand.
