Upgrading your workshop is one of the most important goals for any raider in ARC Raiders, and getting to some of those top levels is going to take a lot of effort.
One item that is necessary for these industrial expansions is the Rusted Gear, and exceedingly rare component that can only be found out in the world. But some locations tend to have better odds of dropping it, so here’s where you should go to get yourself a few of these items.
How to find Rusted Gear in ARC Raiders
Rusted Gear is a random drop that can be found in just about any container in the game. However, Industrial zones tend to have greater odds of spawning it, as do specific types of containers such as cars, whose hoods have a small but non-zero chance to give one of this item.
The best overall locations for finding Rusted Gears would be the Warehouse Complex in Blue Gate, specifically its underground sections that have tons of cars to search through. Hoods seem to have the best odds, but any searchable container is worth checking, given that the item is so rare that you could very well look through hundreds of cars without finding it.
Additionally, the Scrap Yard in Dam Battlegrounds has tons of car wreckages and other Industrial stashes that, like the Complex, could spawn Rusted Gears. Again, the odds are super small, so check every single container that you come across to maximize your odds.
You should also always bring a proper Augment that has Safe Pockets to ensure you don’t die and lose an item that took you several runs to find.
