When does Hardcore mode release in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2?

Ready for a new challenge?

The original Kingdom Come: Deliverance featured a brutal hardcore mode, bringing a new challenge for experienced players. The sequel promises a fresh twist on this, but it won’t be available until after launch. Here’s when you can expect KCD2’s hardcore mode to finally make its debut.

When does Hardcore mode come out in KCD2?

According to the Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Twitter/X, hardcore mode will be released on April 15, 2025. The new updates have already started rolling out with the latest Barber feature, and now, Hardcore Mode is the next one on the list.

I speculate that the update will be pretty massive, given that the Barber Mode had a substantial 90 GB patch. If KCD2’s hardcore mode is anything like its predecessor, there will certainly be a lot included in the upcoming patch. For example, the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance removed handy features like fast travel, Henry’s health/stamina bar, and auto-saves. The second iteration will likely follow suit, but we won’t know for sure until more details are revealed.

We’ll also be getting horse racing sometime after hardcore mode’s launch. You may want to start preparing for this by looking for the best horses in the game, particularly ones with high speed. By the summertime, you can look forward to the new bonus quests from the expansion pass. This includes the Brushes with Death during the Summer, Legacy of the Forge in Autumn, and Mysteria Ecclesiae in Winter.
