Whatcha been playing this week, Destructoid?

Going bananas

“Everybody’s working for the weekend” bellowed ’80s rockers Loverboy. But I guess they were referring to the idea that people were working in order to get to the weekend, as opposed to the reality, for many of us, where we are literally working for the weekend. Either way, it is Saturday, and I’m sure that we’ll all find some time for ourselves, we’ve all earned it, after all.

In terms of gaming, I’ve been elbows-deep in two very different titles. You may have heard about them. First is Devolver Digital’s latest headfuck, Ape Out, which is a fast and frenzied slaughter-fest, backed by some cool jazz rhythms. Y’all should check it out. I’ve also spent a ton of time with the latest release in the Dead or Alive series which, whilst still being a fine fighting title, didn’t present any convincing reason to move on from DoA 5: Last Round.

So that’s me, business as usual my friend. What about you?  Are you currently caught up with 2019’s big-hitters? Still working through your backlog of last year? Or maybe this week’s exciting Pokemon news has sent you scurrying back to earlier titles in the catch-’em-all franchise. As always, whatever you’re playing, share your experiences with us and the community below.

Oh, and while you’re all here. Thank you ever so much for your amazing contributions to the fundraiser held last weekend for our own Mike Martin, we’re incredibly grateful for your spirit and generosity.

Have a wonderful weekend, from all of us at Destructoid.
