Whatcha been playing this week, Destructoid?

Mileena melee returns

Can you believe we’re almost at the end of the first month of 2019?.. You can? Well, for me it’s been pretty fast-moving, despite the fact that I’ve been particularly stationary (the state of being, that is, not the letter-writing equipment). I’m still dealing with some mobility issues and a cough that just won’t leave. But at least it is the weekend so, for many of us, some R ‘n’ R is in order.

I haven’t played a whole lot this week. I whizzed through the next episode of The Walking Dead and bizarro indie game Vane. Then, easily-led, I reinstalled Mortal Kombat X, feeling the itch thanks to this week’s MK 11 reveal. Damn, MKX was a great game, and I was really good at it too, having adopted Mileena as my gal of choice. Jumping back online, my matches were a blur of either destroying my opponents utterly, or getting the ever-loving shit kicked out of me. Clearly I remember the fundamentals, but the deeper tactics are long-gone, smothered by my ill-advised decision to move onto Street Fighter V.

What about all of you? This week has seen new video games starting to hit the shelves again, the PlayStation sale has finally come to an end, and demos for Blackout, Resident Evil 2 and Dead or Alive 6 are all in effect. So be sure to drop a quick line or two below and let us know what you’ve been playing this week. Hope it’s been a fun one and that your year has gotten off to a prosperous start.

Have a wonderful weekend, from all of us at Destructoid.
