“Everybody’s working for the weekend” sang ’80s metallers Loverboy, and whether you’ve worked for the weekend, or just sat around waiting for it to happen, now is your time to shine. It’s Saturday, and I hope that the start of September (can you believe it?) brings you a month of good luck, or good times, or both, or all three.

This week, I’ve done a lot of writing, but in terms of gaming, I spent most of my time scrapping my way through the mean streets of River City, acting out my fantasy of being a badass, no-shits-given gal, while harumphing at my own middle-aged, shits-given guy reality. Anyway, lots of running dropkicks and jumping powerbombs, which is basically all that any of our weekdays should consist of… I’ve been advised by our lawyers to tell you not to go out giving people running dropkicks and jumping powerbombs.

There are certainly plenty of great games currently on shelves, from the aforementioned River City Girls, to Remedy’s Control, PlatinumGames’ Astral Chain, Capcom’s Monster Hunter World: Iceborne and ports of titles such as Wreckfest and Spyro the Dragon Reignited. That’s not to mention all the great games that have been available…well, since video games began. So whatever you’re up to this week, scribble a line and fill us in, homeslice.

Have a wonderful weekend, from all of us at Destructoid.
