Feeling Lucky

Howdy buckeroos! Welcome to the weekend. Not only that, but we’re approaching another fine-ass summer. I hope that yours is a peaceful, safe, and successful one. I’m going to be spending most of mine… well, working and waiting on my second jab. Fill me with those drugs so I can see my friends again… Or at least see Fast & Furious 9. Anyhow, it is the weekend, and I hope that you have a great one. Be good to yourself and those around you, and do take the time to recharge if you need it.

I revisited Tekken 7 this week. Of the many fighters I’ve spent my life with, Tekken remains the one I’ve never really excelled at. I can hold my own, I just don’t advance. This is partly due to an inability to settle on a character — repeatedly rolling through Lili, Raven, Josie, King, Bryan, and even yer gal Lucky Chloe. While all fighting games require the player to know their opponent, close-quarter fighters such as Tekken and Soulcalibur require another level of understanding of where to find that all-elusive turn. Character cross-training is important in all fighters, but in Tekken, it’s a necessity.

Enough of my yapping, you have a weekend to get to. Before you jet off, jump into the comments and share with us the great games that have been filling your week. It’s great seeing how varied our community’s tastes are, and I genuinely enjoy seeing all of the awesome games that you’re all bouncing between. Whether it’s an all-time classic, a brand new release, or just a familiar favorite, share your fun times with us. It’s more inspirational than you might think.

Have a wonderful weekend, from all of us at Destructoid.
