What is Peculiar Audience and what does it do in Warframe? Explained

No, you aren't going crazy. The girl is real.

Every now and then, Baro Ki’Teer sells mods in his biweekly rotations that you should get immediately. Other times, he has Warframe mods like Peculiar Audience which makes you wonder what it is.

We’ll clear up any confusion on the mod if you should use it, or if it’s worth something.

What is Peculiar Audience in Warframe?

Peculiar Audience is a mod that you apply on your Warframe that will “amuse a certain Void entity” when you kill an enemy with a cooldown. The entity referred to in this mod description is Skittergirl, an NPC who you may encounter when taking on missions on the Zariman Ten Zero tileset.

She can be summoned near the classrooms and will start to run away. If you follow her, she oftentimes leads you to a Voidplume or a room with a lot of loot. In other missions, she can become a nuisance, oftentimes during Void Floods.

She is seen as an enemy in these missions, but won’t actually damage you. Archimedean Yonta will come up on the screen to apologize for her manifestation of anxiety. This refers to the Skittergirl.

If you listen closely, you can hear her laughing as she can run into you and knock you down. She’ll also run away, stealing any vitoplast.

What is the point of Peculiar Audience?

The point of Peculiar Audience is to simply recreate her laughter noise outside of the Zariman when killing enemies. It does not provide any benefit to your gameplay, but those who may not have reached the Zariman yet may be confused or even a bit spooked as to why there’s a little girl laughing in their missions.

You can definitely use this mostly to troll or scare newer players without outright spoiling them for things to come.

This acts a lot more interactively compared to Peculiar Growth or Peculiar Bloom which are more cosmetically involved. If you have the mod space for it in your builds, go for it. Otherwise, it’ll just add to your growing collection of mods.
