What does Hawker Pawn Specialization do in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

They're watching you like a hawk.

Besides the Pawn’s Inclination, the Specialization class can ultimately shape their way of life through specific skills. However, unlike their personality traits, these attributes aren’t explicitly explained. So, to better understand, here’s what Hawkers do in Dragon’s Dogma 2 and how they can be used.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Hawker Specialization, explained

The Hawker specializes in selling items when your weight capacity reaches ‘Overencumbered’ status. This skill is excellent for gold farming in Dragon’s Dogma 2, especially for those on the go. However, you can’t choose the items you want to sell; the Pawn will select them.

Since you don’t have control over the exchange, items like Roborants, extracts, and weapon enhancement materials can be sold. I tested this procedure to see what stays in the inventory, where quest-related content, weapons, armor, and camping kits were unaffected. High-valued resources could also be included, specifically for Ferrystones and Wyrmlife Crystals.

If you have yet to obtain a Pawn with this Specialization, you can get the Hawker in Dragon’s Dogma 2 through the Rift. Go to ‘View Unique Pawns’ for instant access and filter it with the Specialization/Quest tab.

Hawkers will likely appear here and may have a Pawn Quest as well. Although the top of the board showcases low leveled characters, the bottom presents much higher rankings.

How to use Hawker in Dragon’s Dogma 2

You must wait until a Pawn with Hawker Specialization approaches you for the transaction. It will likely trigger with the ‘Overencumbered’ weight capacity, especially when settling down for a campsite. Otherwise, the dialogue selection does not appear when small talk is made with them.

Setting up a campsite worked for me where the option ‘Sell items’ unlocked for their dialogue. All I did was set up the camp and then break it, resulting in the Hawker asking the question shortly after. Though, I would suggest placing items you want to keep with your Main Pawn, as the Hawker selects objects randomly (excluding the ones mentioned above.)

As a result, a list of the items sold will be presented to you, giving you a hefty amount of gold in the process. It also slightly lessens the load to help with a player’s movement. In particular, my capacity of ‘Overemcumbered’ turned to ‘Very Heavy.’
