Destiny 2 is well known for having a ton of different terms that can be difficult to grasp at first, but start to make sense with time and knowledge of the game. If you told a new player terms like Volatile, Jolt, or Ignition, they might not know what the hell you were talking about, but they will. A lot of terms that cause particular confusion come up with quests Here’s what playlist activities are in Destiny 2.
How do you complete playlist activities in Destiny 2?

Playlist activities are activities that have some form of matchmaking attached to them. When beginning them, you should get a queue of sorts where you’re finding other guardians to play with or against. Examples of playlist activities include Vanguard Ops in the Vanguard tab, any Crucible playlist excluding Private Matches, and Gambit. Completing any of these should grant you progress on whatever quest or bounty requires them.
If you want to get the quest done as quickly as possible, then completing the Vanguard Ops playlist will be the fastest. Gambit and Crucible matches are fairly quick as well but tend to take longer than Strikes. With any luck, you’ll also get some shorter Strikes such as Proving Ground or Lake of Shadows.
Depending on the current state of Destiny 2, there may also be other events that count as playlist activities. For example, the Solstice of Heroes event counts the Bonfire Bash activity as a playlist activity. It’s a strange omission seeing as it isn’t technically a playlist, but it can also make for a good change of pace. The Solstice of Heroes event also requires that you complete playlist activities for certain quests and bounties, so they go hand in hand.
