Watch a 79-year-old grandmother play Skyrim, and have your heart warmed

She reminds me of my grandma so much!

Grandma Shirley, aka Shirley Curry, is a 79-year-old grandmother who “just had a beast of a gaming computer built,” allowing her to “play like a Boss! LOL” according to her description on her YouTube channel. Shirley’s first let’s play of The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim went live yesterday and has taken the Internet by storm, already racking up nearly 150,000 views.

What is Shirley’s reasoning behind starting to make let’s plays? “I want to start a blog for older gamers, like myself,” Shirley says, “because I feel we are not represented enough on YouTube.”

If this first video is anything to go by, Shirley will surely be a star in no time with such a calming voice and dialect. “The Bob Ross of video games,” as one commenter put it. Pretty spot on.

Calmly explaining how she uses poison on her arrow tips to fight dragons, to being disgusted by a giant spider, grandma Shirley has all the charm of your grandmother if she were a hardcore gamer, and I love her. Keep up the good work, Shirley!
