Warsoup is what happens when RTS meets FPS

You know how progression systems and experience points are pretty much a standard component of shooters these days? It seems like the next logical step for the genre is borrowing more of these concepts, resulting in greater emphasis on calculated decisions — not reflexes — and seeing the big picture.

This has been explored in the past, but hasn’t quite caught on just yet. Until it does, we have Moon Studios’ amazingly named Warsoup to anticipate. It’s not exactly a revolution by any means, but it looks enjoyable enough, and I do love the clean, sleek visual style they’re going for. Execution is everything.

Warsoup is gunning for PC, Mac, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, if this trailer is any indication. I’m in.
